Select Headhunter is currently representing an innovative organization dedicated to developing high-integrity, nature-based solutions and carbon projects across South and Southeast Asia. They are seeking a highly experienced Country General Manager to lead their Indonesian operations, serving as a strategic advisor and operational proxy to the founders. This is a pivotal leadership role for someone deeply rooted in the Indonesian ecosystem who can navigate complex regulatory landscapes and drive meaningful environmental impact.
Job Responsibilities
Serve as the senior representative and primary decision-maker for all in-country operations, including legal, commercial, and regulatory domains.
Oversee all business administration, including HR, payroll, tax compliance, and corporate filings within the Indonesian entity.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with government bodies, NGOs, and private sector stakeholders in the carbon and forestry sectors.
Originate and structure carbon or forestry projects by negotiating agreements with landowners and implementation partners.
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, managing recruitment, onboarding, and continuous professional development.
Facilitate dialogue between on-ground stakeholders and technical teams to ensure project viability and design.
Job Requirements
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in carbon markets, nature-based solutions, forestry, or closely related fields, with a significant portion of that career built within Indonesia.
Full fluency in Bahasa Indonesia (written and spoken) and excellent English communication skills.
Proven track record in managing in-country business operations, including compliance, legal administration, and HR.
Deep understanding of Indonesian carbon regulations and forestry frameworks.
Demonstrated experience in originating and structuring complex deals or projects with local stakeholders.
Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in both urban and remote environments.
