Job Responsibilities
Design, implement and maintain server-side services and APIs that power core product features.
Build scalable, secure, and high-performance systems capable of handling production traffic and large datasets.
Collaborate with product managers, front-end engineers, and DevOps to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Write clean, maintainable code and unit/integration tests; participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
Optimize databases and data storage strategies (SQL and/or NoSQL) for performance and reliability.
Contribute to architectural decisions, system design documentation, and technical roadmaps.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation to improve development velocity and deployment safety.
Ensure services meet security, compliance, and observability standards (logging, metrics, tracing).
Job Requirements
Strong proficiency in one or more server-side languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, Node.js).
Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices in production.
Solid understanding of databases (relational and/or NoSQL), query optimization, and data modeling.
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
Familiarity with CI/CD practices, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and automated testing.
Knowledge of security best practices for back-end systems and APIs.
Excellent debugging, profiling and performance-tuning skills.
Strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience; 3+ years of professional back-end development experience preferred.
