Select Headhunter, on behalf of our esteemed client in the Finance Services, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to be based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Job Responsibilities:

  1. Management of Commercial Team:

    • Lead the commercial team to achieve growth and quality of business with specific targets.

    • Set the targets of all the commercial team and coach them on target setting and achievement.

    • Monitor and supervise the commercial team to achieve targets with quality.

    • Work with HR to create a strong and effective team, with involvement in recruiting, hiring, training, coaching/mentoring, supporting, and motivating the commercial team.

    • Set performance targets and incentives for all members of the commercial team in collaboration with HR.

    • Set organizational performance targets together with the CEO and the Executive Management Team.

    • Assess and monitor to ensure products meet demand, stay competitive, and are effectively rolled out with full understanding of staff.

    • Maintain a high standard of discipline and teamwork in all the commercial team, and take necessary actions to ensure that all staff in Branches are performing according to - and even over – expectations.

    • Contribute to the development of a performance management system and effectively implement the system to ensure high performance across all staff in Branches.

    • Develop annual plans and budgets for the commercial team, and supervise to achieve annual targets.

    • Ensure that a strong corporate culture to promote cooperation, efficiency, service quality, and high ethical standards in the delivery of financial services is implemented.

    • Lead the commercial team to have disbursement planning, and support them to increase the outstanding loan portfolio.

    • Assist the Institution to have a proper model (business, commercial, credit, collections, financial, digital model).

  2. Credit Portfolio Management:

    • Monitor if policies, norms, and procedures are accurately applied across all levels; provide an adequate level of control to ensure that the entire loan process is working according to procedures.

    • Analyse together with relevant departments what factors are affecting delinquency rates at the different areas and levels, and develop recovery strategies.

    • Emphasize and give proper guidelines to the branches on day-to-day problems, together with their Managers.

    • Lead the process to update Operations Manual twice a year, and to perform periodic updates, based on the requirements of the business.

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory provisions regarding credit risk management, prompt reporting of risk positions, and provision of advice on possible resolutions of critical issues.

    • Lead the process to produce timely, detailed management reports as needed for monitoring and management of all business systems and functions.

  3. Training and Development:

    • Assist the training team to develop training modules, and to provide training to all the commercial team, as necessary.

    • Request the training team and other departments to develop training modules, and to provide training to all the departments, as necessary.

    • Active participation and discussion at workshops, meetings, and trainings for the commercial team.

  4. Planning and Budgeting:

    • Develop annual and monthly targets, and monitor to ensure achievement of targeted results.

    • Lead the process to prepare a plan and budget annually, quarterly, and monthly.

    • Supervise the commercial team to have business’s growth, based on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually planning and monitoring.

    • Supervise and lead the entire commercial team to have a proper plan, and emphasize to achieve the targeted plans.

  5. Expansion:

    • Lead the process to have proper expansion, regarding geographic areas, as well as segments, products, services, channels.

    • Supervise and support the commercial team and other departments, for the process of new area expansion, new branch opening.

    • Lead the process of new products, pilots, projects, in the Institution.

    • Liaise and maintain a relationship with all relevant community and opinion leaders, government officials, and local authorities.

  6. Market Intelligence:

    • Lead the market/competition analysis and intelligence as the base for product and service changes and development to ensure the Institution’s market competitiveness.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven track record in the Micro Lending/SME industry.

  • Demonstrated experience in business strategy.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to oversee multiple teams.

  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to develop and implement operational policies and strategies.

  • Experience in budget development and oversight.

  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
